The SCM50 has long been the mid-field monitor of choice for many audio professionals across the world. Over the years we’ve had the opportunity to listen them next to a whole host of competitors and whilst personal preferences always differ at this end of the market, the SCM50 remains a serious contender for the main monitors in many small/medium studios. For many, the SCM50 represents unparalleled accuracy throughout the mid-range. We often find ourselves criticising rival loudspeakers for being overly flattering in mix areas notorious for spectral congestion. Inaccuracies (often…
Simon was one of Yellow Technology's very first clients, having been recommended through our work with the Chapell Recorded Music Library.  We have worked with Simon and his brother, Mark, ever since, providing technical assistance as required and building and moving studios.  Back in 2006, we helped to build Simon's current studio, providing equipment, furniture, wiring and acoustic consultation, and Simon continues to work in this studio today, albeit following several upgrades and enhancements along the way. Simon Russell is a London-based musician and composer, who has worked on numerous…

Extraordinary Care

Written by

Extraordinary Care is possibly the most important of all our values, as it really covers the other two as well.  It is also the most difficult to achieve, and the one that we're always working on.

Extraordinary Care is applicable everywhere.  The way we answer the phone; the way we handle enquiries and support calls; the way we welcome our guests; the way we look after our team; the way we deal with our suppliers.  We never stop finding new ways of exhibiting Extraordinary Care.

A number of ADAM loudspeakers have formed part of our product portfolio for many years now. ADAM have managed to integrate ribbon tweeter technology into professional monitors more effectively than most, often successfully reproducing exceptional high-frequency detail, while maintaining a faithful midrange. Whilst its not quite the smallest speaker in the ADAM range, we’ve found the A5X to be about the most compact monitor available that does reliably facilitate professional-level critical listening. Despite its size, the A5X has a surprisingly powerful low end. Many of our clients have noted how…

Our History

Written by

The Company

Yellow Technology was conceived by Peter Eaglesfield and Antony Conner, both of whom came from positions as senior technical officers within the professional audio industry, as an advanced service and resourcing hub for high-dependency, mission-critical technology environments. Their experience as and with audio professionals had highlighted a desperate requirement for advanced, unbiased support, advice and service provision that was based around a technical rather than a sales ethic.

The Location

The directors chose a base in Saffron Walden, Essex, to afford the company quick and easy travel to all UK and international destinations, thanks to the close proximity of the M11, Stansted Airport and a mainline BR station.

Our premises are set in a beautiful old barn, and house our workshop and offices.

Ethical Approach

We believe in being honest and open with our clients. In order to provide the best service, we need our clients to be able to trust;

  • that we will give them the best advice regardless of what products might be cheapest, easiest or most lucrative for us to supply;
  • that we will give them the benefit of our experience where we are confident of our expertise but that we will acknowledge any deficiencies in our knowledge or experience, undertaking the appropriate research where necessary.

We employ honest, knowledgeable and experienced consultants and we invest heavily in all our staff, ensuring that they have the right tools to do their work. Our consultants hold regular technical meetings to discuss current issues and projects, and we strive to implement standard practice throughout our service offering.

Industries

Our origins are in the audio industry, and we continue to develop our business within the professional recording sector. However, our skills and approach have led us into other mission-critical technology industries such as film and television post-production, education, corporate networking and forensics. We believe that our services can be of benefit to any company or individual who needs technology to work reliably and consistently.

We started work with David in 2009, consulting on the refurbishment of his Bristol-based studio. This included the design and installation of custom workstation furniture and studio wiring to accommodate the addition of a new mixing console and headphone monitoring solution. Since then, along with the ongoing maintenance of the system, we've worked with David to grow the studio to suit the changing demands of his work, including upgrades to 5.1 surround monitoring, and acoustic consultation and treatment. David is an Emmy and RTS Award nominated composer who has written…
We have long considered ADAM to make the best ribbon-tweeter based studio monitors available. Their S3A was a real favourite among our clients, particularly composers and producers, combining unparalleled quality of high-frequency detail with a really responsive low end. Since the discontinuation of the S3A, ADAM have offered the S3X-H, S3X-V and A77X as alternatives, the latter being the most popular among our client base. The A77X utilises the proprietary X-ART ribbon tweeter, found in all other current ADAM professional monitors. The reproduction of high frequencies is exceptionally revealing and…
George has been a client of Yellow Technology since 2003.  In 2007 we consulted on and built a new studio at George's new London home and then in 2013 George called upon our services again to rebuild his farm studio in Berkshire.  We provide George with on-going maintenance and support through a Performance Plan. Best known for his work in film and television, George Fenton is one of the UK’s most successful composers, writing scores for over 100 films and collaborating with some of the most influential filmmakers. In 1990…
